ETHICS STATEMENT OF THE PUBLICATION

It is important that all persons involved in the production of JFME, whether authors, editors or reviewers, adhere to the highest standards of conduct and ethics. The ethical principles are those of the Principles of Transparency and the Guidelines for Best Practice in Academic Publications, proposed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and DOAJ.

Conflicts of Interest

All sources of financial support for the paper must be disclosed and conflicts of interest of a financial or other nature (personal, affiliation, ideology, intellectual property, etc.) must be declared.

Contribution to the work and author responsibility

Significant contribution to the work through the conception, structuring, execution and interpretation of the study should be reflected as partnership in the work, with all co-authors being listed. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If there are persons who have contributed to the manuscript but are not an author, they should be mentioned as such if they give permission.

Although the corresponding author is responsible for communicating with reviewers and editors, he or she should ensure that the co-authors have seen the final approved form of the work and have agreed to its submission and publication.

Authors submitting papers must provide a valid ORCID on the paper.

Results Falsification

Authors of submitted papers or published articles found to have falsified or fabricated results may have their papers retracted and may be sanctioned.

Duplicate and redundant publication

JFME considers original papers, i.e. articles that have not been previously published. If the paper is part of a preprint, institutional repository, research project or thesis this must be mentioned, including citation. Also, if there are adaptations of previous works, authors must cite the previous works and specify the differences in relation to the work submitted for publication in JFME. Also, special care is required for authors not to submit for publication an article submitted elsewhere, otherwise they may face sanctions.

Inappropriate use of citations

Authors cannot use citations to improve the increase in the number of citations for an author or paper through their work, and editors and reviewers must not ask authors to cite the journal, journals to which they are associated or their works, based on articles in previous issues, in order to increase their visibility.
